We are proud to share that our partner Maison Ferrand’s Planteray Cut & Dry has been awarded Best New Spirit or Cocktail Ingredient at the 2025 Spirited Awards, hosted by Tales of the Cocktail in New Orleans.
This prestigious recognition is one of the highest honors in the global spirits industry, celebrating innovation, craftsmanship, and impact within the bar and beverage community. For distributors across the Caribbean and Latin America, this win is more than a headline — it’s a powerful endorsement of a product that is already resonating with bartenders, retailers, and consumers worldwide.
“We like to say we build instruments, and bartenders play the music. Seeing Cut & Dry celebrated in this way is deeply moving—not just for the innovation behind it, but for the hands and hearts that have carried it forward.”
~ Alexandre Gabriel, Maison Ferrand’s Owner & Master Blender
A Spirit Born from Barbados, Celebrated Worldwide
Cut & Dry began as a bold idea: to capture the essence of Barbados in a bottle. After four years of development and nearly 100 recipe trials, the result is a rum made with sun-dried Barbadian coconut, crafted at the historic Stade’s West Indies Rum Distillery — one of the oldest and only beachfront distilleries in the Caribbean.
“This award belongs to everyone who helped bring Cut & Dry to life – the team at the distillery, the local farmers, the guests who visit us, and the bartenders who believed in this rum from the very beginning. It’s a moment of pride for all of us in Barbados.”

This is Maison Ferrand’s third win in this category, following Ferrand Cognac 1840 Original Formula awarded in 2012 and Planteray Stiggins’ Fancy Pineapple Rum awarded in 2016. It reflects the brand’s deep connection to the global bar community and its continued commitment to quality and innovation.
