On Monday December 3rd, the Hardys ‘Modern Masters’ cricket bat was officially presented to Cuddy’z Sports Bar and Restaurant in Kingston, Jamaica.  The bat is a limited edition, signed by three of the world’s best batsmen, Brian Lara (West Indies), Steve Waugh (Australia) and Sachin Tendulkar (India).  One hundred of the ‘Modern Masters’ bats were produced and only two are within in the Caribbean, one in Jamaica and the other in Barbados in recognition of the success of Hardy wines in both markets and the opening and closing ceremonies for Cricket World Cup 2007 respectively. The evening event was hosted by Lascelles Wines & Spirits with Simon Croskill, one of the region’s leading sports journalists, as the master of ceremonies to introduce the Hon. Courtney Walsh, owner of Cuddy’z.  The connection between Hardy’s and cricket is a long standing association and the involvement with Cuddy’z was an easy link.  Photographs of the West Indies cricket team being presented with Hardys wines during an Australian tour in the 1980’s was showcased and a point of interest for all attendees including Courtney Walsh.
