The passion for Caribbean Beach Volleyball has been clearly demonstrated by the record number of teams, officials and fans of the sport who have participated in the recently concluded Sizzlin' Sand Caribbean SUNSPLASH Series 2006. Now into its third season, the series which consisted of the Antigua SUNSPLASH September 30th- October 1st at Castaways Beach Jolly Harbor and The Barbados SUNSPLASH November 4th-5th, Brandon’s Beach confirmed the status of Sizzlin' Sand Beach Volleyball tournaments as the premiere beach volleyball events within the Caribbean. Featuring teams from Jamaica, St. Kitts, Canada, Bahamas, USA, Martinique, Guadeloupe, Antigua, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, record participation levels were again broken in Antigua (25 teams) as well as Barbados (24 teams). The large numbers participating is testimony to the hard work put in by event producer Leisure Entertainment to deliver a quality event of the highest caliber. Also growing have been the partners who have signed on to be apart of this fantastic event.

In 2006 Red Bull energy drink and Seven Seas Health Supplements, were onboard to partner with Leisure Entertainment. Together they continue to promote Caribbean SUNSPLASH Series as the #1 Volleyball activity on the region’s beaches. Television has become an important component of the tour. Both the Antigua and Barbados SUNSPLASH events were recorded for international rebroadcast.
