Stansfeld Scott’s initial trade was in blending and bottling their own rum, Cockade and the original Falernum. Today Stansfeld Scott is a professional marketing and distribution company with a premium portfolio of leading international brands in Barbados and across the Caribbean.
The evolution started in 1980, when the present management retooled, the Barbadian company, Stansfeld Scott & Co. Ltd. as the only specialist wine and spirits distributor. The finest portfolio was uncompromisingly sought and the company earned a reputation as the leading marketer supported by a dynamic and ambitious team. The organization continued to diversify and extend its geographic coverage. In 1992 Stansfeld Scott Inc., a Florida-based company, was formed to complement the efforts of Stansfeld Scott, Barbados. Today Stansfeld Scott Inc. manages and markets a leading international portfolio of fine wines and spirits through a network of more than 120 independent distributors in 30 countries across the Caribbean.
Both companies continued to grow, diversifying into the health supplements industry in 1995 and capitalizing on the growing consumer awareness of the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. Today Stansfeld Scott is a leading supplier of health supplements across the Caribbean.
The company further expanded its reach, venturing into specialty wine retailing. Under the banner of Wine World, Stansfeld Scott opened its first retail store in 1999 and is today the leading specialty wine retailer in Barbados.

MARKETING
Stansfeld Scott, Inc. takes product development seriously and is committed to pursuing market share. With a premium portfolio and emphasis on brand development, we continually encourage investment in marketing campaigns designed to return medium to long-term product growth and development.
Our marketing services include the development of promotional material, television/radio commercials and print advertising. And through field visits, Stansfeld Scott personnel work closely with our distribution partners to identify opportunities and adopt timely and relevant marketing concepts in order to capitalise on potential growth areas.
To stay abreast of marketing trends and product development, we continually visit suppliers and attend job-related courses and trade shows. The product knowledge gained from these activities is shared with customers and consumers through educational seminars and training programmes.
ADMINISTRATION
Stansfeld Scott, Inc. ensures that documentation and special requirements are met by staying in close contact with both distributor and supplier, thus avoiding expensive delays. Customer service personnel maintain extensive reporting systems and process and coordinate the sourcing and shipping of all products and related materials.
Our distributors are assured that their requirements will be sourced in the most cost-effective fashion. Shipping is coordinated from the supplier's warehouse, or to facilitate smaller orders, from either our Barbados warehouse or a Florida facility. And Stansfeld Scott pays suppliers for shipments to distributors, then invoices the distributor. This saves our suppliers the administrative burden of tracking and collecting from several accounts and minimises their exposure to credit risk.
